4 cun 9 fen of tender locust twigs, 4 cun 9 fen of tender willow twigs, 49 strands of hair (each 1 chi long), 49 Sichuan peppercorns, 3 qian of genuine mercury oxide, 1 liang of beeswax.

Instructions for Use

Burn the two branches and the hair from the recipe above until they are reduced to ash while retaining their essential properties. Grind the mercury oxide into a very fine powder. Use 2 liang of sesame oil to simmer Sichuan pepper until it turns charred black; strain thoroughly. Add the beeswax and let it cool; only then add the mercury oxide. Next, add the three types of ash and stir until uniform. Cut 12 pieces of cotton paper to fit the size of the sore and apply the medicine evenly over them.Wash the ulcer thoroughly with a decoction of Phellodendron bark and Schizonepeta. Apply the medicated paper in multiple layers and secure with a cloth strip. The itching will be unbearable. The next day, remove the paper, wash the area again with the same decoction, and remove one layer of paper. Repeat this process for six days, removing six layers in total; the skin will have fully healed.
