Drug Formulation

1 liang of Suoyang, 1 liang of Sichuan Sichuan pepper, 1 liang of Sichuan aconite, 1 liang of Evodia fruit, 1 liang of Chinese chive seeds, 1 liang of purple-tipped flower, 1 liang of white angelica root, 1 liang of raw rehmannia root, 1 liang of angelica sinensis root, 1 liang of prepared rehmannia root, 1 liang of asparagus root, 1 liang of ophiopogon tuber, 1 liang of deer antler (dehaired), 1 liang and 5 qian of eucommia bark, and 5 qian of sea maggots.

Processing

Coarsely chop the above herbs as appropriate, deep-fry them in 128 liang of sesame oil until charred, remove the residue and filter the oil, then distill it until a drop of oil forms a bead. Add 48 liang of orpiment to form a paste. Remove the paste, immerse it in water to neutralize the heat toxicity, then reheat to melt it.For each batch, mix in 3 qian of cinnamon bark, 5 qian of myrrh, 3 qian of frankincense, 3 qian of clove buds, 2 qian and 5 fen of calcined oyster shell, 1 liang of musk, and 2 qian and 5 fen of agarwood. Stir the mixture thoroughly and spread it into patches. The oil content per patch is 7 qian for large ones and 3 qian and 5 fen for small ones; wrap each in red cloth.
