Drug Formulation

Artemisia annua 1 jin (chopped, thoroughly washed, and free of soil); licorice 1 liang (roasted until yellow, ground into powder); apricot kernels 1 liang (soaked in hot water, skinned and de-seeded, ground separately); Bupleurum root 1 liang (stem removed, ground into powder; from Yinzhou); softshell turtle shell 1 liang (edges removed, soaked in vinegar, roasted until yellow-red, ground into powder); honey 2 he.

Processing

First, use 5 sheng of children’s urine to decoct Artemisia annua; reduce to 1 sheng, strain out the residue, and transfer the liquid to a small, clean pot. Decoct further until it reaches the consistency of malt syrup, then add a small amount of butter, along with the honey and powdered herbs, and simmer until it forms a paste. Roll into pills the size of a paulownia seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 20 pills per dose, gradually increasing to 30 pills; take on an empty stomach with warm wine.
