Drug Formulation

1 snake head (roasted), 3 centipedes (red-footed variety), 3 qian of cinnabar,2 qian of lead white, 2 qian of mercury oxide, 1 qian of borneol, 1 qian of musk, half a liang of iron oxide powder, half a liang of herb ash, 1 liang of snake-containing stone (quenched in vinegar; one formula adds 1 fen of scorpion; another adds half a liang of aconite root, peeled and with the tip removed, and 1 fen of dragon’s blood).

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder and form into pills the size of a chicken’s head using glutinous rice paste.
