Source

From *Ji Feng*, Volume 29.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Take 2 liang of Cistanche tubulosa powder and place it on Kunlun paper. First, use a piece of silk to scoop up the Four Divine Elixir powder; mix it lightly with honey to form a lump. Remove the silk, gently place the medicine lump in the center of the Cistanche-coated paper, and wrap it completely around once.then wrap it tightly with soap-treated hemp thread. Place it in a pit lined with 3 sheng of fresh tile or brick powder, spread so that the surface is level with the ground, with a layer of tile powder about four fingers thick on top. Light a fire around the four sides and calcine it with 12 jin of good charcoal; do not fan the fire. When the fire has died down, remove it, discard the paper, and inspect the medicated bundle—if it has turned the color of new iron, it is excellent. Grind it finely, mix with water-soaked steamed buns to form pills the size of a paulownia seed.
