Processing

Coarsely grind the ingredients, wrap them in cotton, and place them in an oil cauldron. Simmer over low heat until, when a drop is placed in water, it forms a bead that does not disperse. Filter through cotton to remove the residue. Next, add the real cinnabar and beeswax, and stir vigorously with a willow whisk until the mixture turns black. Allow to cool and check for consistency. Finely grind the myrrh and frankincense separately, add them to the ointment, and stir thoroughly to form a cohesive paste.
