Drug Formulation

Pine resin (refined) 1 jin 12 liang, white beeswax 1 jin 4 liang, clarified butter half a jin, honey 1 jin 4 liang, white Poria (black skin removed, ground into powder) 10 liang.

Processing

First, place the four ingredients—pine resin, white beeswax, clarified butter, and honey—into a porcelain container, seal it tightly, and steam it inside a steamer containing 2 dou of millet. Once the millet is cooked, remove the container, add the Poria powder, and stir thoroughly with a pestle. Seal it tightly again as before. After 5 days, open the container, mix the contents thoroughly, and roll them into pills the size of a Paulownia seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 5 pills per dose, washed down with wine in the morning and late afternoon. After 10 days of treatment, reduce the dose to 1 pill; if hungry, increase to 2–3 pills. Once the entire course is completed, refrain from eating.

Note

While taking this medicine, do not consume any food whatsoever.
