Drug Formulation

1 female black chicken (plucked, with claws and innards removed), 1 liang of softshell turtle shell (coated with vinegar, roasted until yellow, and with the frills removed),1 liang of peach kernels (soaked in hot water, with skin, tip, and double kernels removed, then stir-fried with wheat bran until slightly yellow), 3 fen of Sichuan rhubarb (chopped, mixed with vinegar, and stir-fried until dry), 1 fen of Evodia fruit (soaked in hot water 7 times, oven-dried, and lightly stir-fried), 1 liang of cinnamon bark, 1 liang of ghost arrow,1 liang Achyranthes root (remove the shoots), 1 liang Angelica root (chopped, lightly stir-fried), 1 liang Schisandra berries, half a liang licorice root (lightly roasted), half a liang sodium carbonate.

Instructions for Use

Except for the chicken, coarsely grind the above herbs into a uniform powder. Boil the whole chicken in 4 sheng of water, strain the broth, and clarify it in a porcelain vessel until clear. For each dose, take 2 qianbi of the powder and 1 zhan of the clarified chicken broth; simmer until reduced to 7 fen, strain out the residue, and take warm at any time.
