Drug Formulation

5 jin of authentic Maoshan Atractylodes (soaked overnight in glutinous rice washing water, peeled with a bamboo knife, sun-dried, and ground into powder), 4.5 jin of black sesame seeds (i.e., sesame; take half a jin at a time, grind with water, place in a hemp cloth bag, remove the dregs and floating water, mix with the Atractylodes powder, steam over rice, and sun-dry; repeat this process 9 times),5 jin of red and white He Shou Wu (scrape off the skin with a bamboo knife, sun-dry, and grind into powder), 4.5 sheng of black beans (each time, take half a sheng; boil the beans until soft, extract the liquid, mix with the He Shou Wu powder, steam, and sun-dry; repeat this process 9 times).

Form into pills using white honey.

Instructions for Use

Take 3 qian every morning and evening, washed down with lightly salted water. When first taking this remedy, start with 2 qian; after 3–4 days, increase to 2 qian and 5 fen; after another 3–4 days, increase to 3 qian. Whenever symptoms arise—whether cold or hot—urination may persist for 1–2 hours; do not be alarmed, as it will cease naturally, and the illness will be cured.
