Drug Formulation

1 jin loquat leaves (honey-fried), half a jin white peony root (soaked in wine, sliced, half raw and half fried), 6 liang Huai raw rehmannia root (washed with wine), 4 liang cooked Huai rehmannia root, 5 liang Artemisia annua seeds (soaked in a child’s urine), 4 liang schisandra berries (steamed with honey), 1 liang raw licorice root (peeled),4 liang of Cornus officinalis pulp, 4 liang of Phellodendron bark (peeled, sliced, and stir-fried with honey), 4 liang of Dipsacus asper (washed in wine, stir-fried), 5 liang of donkey-hide gelatin (stir-fried with clam powder; if genuine gelatin is unavailable, substitute with deer-antler gelatin; melted in a double boiler with wine), and 3 liang of Eucommia bark (peeled, fried with ghee).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder; mix 4 liang of Huai yam powder with water to form a paste, then combine with refined honey to make pills the size of a tung tree seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 5 qian per dose on an empty stomach with a sip of light vinegar water; take an additional dose when hungry.

Avoid white radish.
