Drug Formulation

Shuǐzhōngjīn 1 qian, talc (finely ground, boiled in Moutan bark decoction) 6 liang, powdered licorice 2 qian, Amomum villosum seeds 6 qian, ginseng 1 liang, wood fragrant (unroasted) 2 qian, cardamom 3 qian, cyperus rhizome (processed with children’s urine) 1 liang, sweet flag 4 qian, curcuma (roasted) 3 qian, platycodon root 2 qian, astragalus (honey-fried) 2 qian,2 qian of Chinese yam, 2 qian and 5 fen of Poria cocos (with the core), 2 qian and 5 fen of Poria, 1 qian and 5 fen of Polygala root (cleaned), 5 fen of ox bile, 3 qian of Curcuma zedoaria, 3 fen of musk, and 2 liang of cinnabar (fine powder).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, mix with refined honey to form pills weighing 1 qian each, and coat each pill with 70 sheets of gold leaf.

Instructions for Use

Administer with light ginger decoction; for children with vomiting and diarrhea, convulsive disorders, malnutrition, or indigestion, mix with rice water; for acute and chronic convulsions and abdominal pain, mix with ginger decoction; for critical smallpox cases, administer with lampwick decoction.
