Xuantu Pill,For diabetes insipidus, nocturnal emission, and leukorrhea; due to depletion of kidney yin, upward flare of heart fire, and failure of body fluids to be generated—all symptoms of diabetes insipidus;kidney qi deficiency, dizziness, tinnitus, fatigue in the limbs, nocturnal emission, hematuria, distension and fullness in the chest and abdomen, soreness and weakness in the feet and knees, itching in the inner thighs, frequent and thin urination, painful and difficult urination, and occasional dribbling; lower jiao deficiency resulting in an inability to retain fluids, leading to excessive urination with a downward flow but no upward movement.

Drug Formulation

Dodder seeds (soaked in wine until softened, ground while still moist, roasted until dry, and ground into a separate powder) 10 liang; white Poria 3 liang; dried lotus seeds 3 liang; Schisandra berries (soaked in wine and ground into a separate powder) 7 liang.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a powder. Separately, grind 6 liang of dried Chinese yam into a powder. Add wine to the remaining wine-soaked mixture and boil until it forms a paste. Mix thoroughly until the consistency is right, then pound with a pestle several thousand times. Form into pills the size of a paulownia seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 50 pills per dose, on an empty stomach before meals, washed down with rice water.
