Drug Formulation

3 liang of Huai Shengdi (wine-processed), 3 liang of He Shouwu (wine-simmered), 3 liang of Huanliancao, 3 liang of Luxiancao (genuine specimens are extremely rare; substitute with Xianlingspi), 1 liang of dried Shan Yao (mixed with milk), 1 liang of Bai Fuling (mixed with milk), 1 liang of Danggui Shen (wine-stir-fried),Genuine blue salt 1 liang, Acorus tatarinowii 5 qian, Cuscuta chinensis 5 qian, Cistanche deserticola (soaked in wine, membrane removed) 5 qian, Psoralea corylifolia 5 qian, Acanthopanax senticosus bark 5 qian, Dipsacus asper 5 qian, Achyranthes bidentata (Huai variety) 5 qian, White chrysanthemum 5 qian, Eucommia ulmoides (wine-fried until fibers break) 5 qian,Goji berries 5 qian, Cnidium seeds 5 qian, Sophora japonica seeds 5 qian, Schisandra berries 5 qian, Rubus fruit 5 qian, Sichuan Coptis 5 qian, Jian Alisma 5 qian.

Processing

Remove the rock salt from the mixture above. Decoct in a pot until the liquid is reduced by half, then strain out the residue. Decoct the residue again until reduced by half, strain thoroughly, and mix with the concentrated decoction. Add 3 sheng 7 he of horse-feed beans and 1 sheng 7 he of Ligustrum fruit, and boil for several tens of rolls. Grind the rock salt into a fine powder, pour it into the mixture, and continue decocting until the liquid is completely absorbed. Remove the beans, sun-dry them, and store them in a porcelain jar.
