Drug Formulation

2.4 kg of mugwort leaves, 125 g of cinnamon twigs, 125 g of Galanga, 50 g of patchouli, 175 g of agarwood, 50 g of cyperus, 100 g of angelica root, 50 g of tangerine peel, 50 g of salvia root, 75 g of raw Sichuan aconite, and 12.5 g of realgar.

Processing

For this formula, grind the mugwort leaves into mugwort fluff; grind the realgar into a very fine powder (or grind it into a fine powder after washing with water); grind the remaining nine ingredients into fine powders; mix them with the realgar powder, sift the mixture, and blend thoroughly.First, take 20 g of mugwort fluff and spread it evenly on a sheet of white cotton paper measuring 28 cm long by 15 cm wide. Then, evenly sprinkle 88 g of the aforementioned powder over it. Fold both ends of the cotton paper in about 6 cm, roll it tightly into a strip, seal the ends, and dry it in the sun.

Instructions for Use

Direct moxibustion: Apply an appropriate amount per session until a reddish flush appears; perform 1–2 times daily, or as directed by a physician.
