14 Gardenia fruits (split open), 2 liang licorice (roasted), 4 he fermented soybeans (wrapped in cotton).

Benefits

For cases of restlessness and insomnia due to deficiency following sweating, vomiting, or purgation; if severe, the patient will toss and turn restlessly, feel deep distress in the heart, and have shortness of breath; or for stone-induced toxicity resulting from the consumption of stale rice, rotten meat, or leftover soup.

Instructions for Use

Combine the ingredients with 4 sheng of water. First, decoct the Gardenia and licorice to reduce the liquid to 2.5 sheng. Add the fermented soybeans and decoct further to 1.5 sheng. Strain out the residue, divide the liquid into two doses, and administer one dose while warm. If vomiting occurs, stop and take the remaining dose later.
