Drug Formulation

1 handful of light bamboo leaves, 3 liang of Astragalus (chopped, stir-fried), 3 liang of licorice (roasted, chopped), 3 liang of Scutellaria (black core removed), 3 liang of Ophiopogon (core removed, roasted), 3 liang of peony root, 2 liang of Angelica (sliced, roasted),2 liang of Ginseng, 2 liang of Gypsum (crushed), 2 liang of Ligusticum, 2 liang of Pinellia (washed 7 times in boiling water to remove slipperiness, then dried), and 8 liang of Raw Rehmannia (sliced, dried).

Instructions for Use

Grind the ingredients into a coarse powder. For each dose, take 5 qian bi of the powder, add 1.5 zhan of water, 1 fen of fresh ginger (crushed), 5 jujubes (split open), and 7 bamboo leaves. Decoct until reduced to 8 fen, strain, and take while warm—three times a day and once at night.
