Drug Formulation
2 jin of ginseng (substitute with processed American ginseng for those with weak constitutions), 2 jin of Poria cocos, 1 jin of turtle shell (simmer separately to extract gelatin), 1 pair of black-boned chickens, 1 jin of softshell turtle shell (simmer separately to extract gelatin), 1 jin of oyster shells, 2 jin of abalone, 2 jin of sea cucumber, 2 jin of white peony root, half a jin of Schisandra berries, 2 jin of Ophiopogon tuber (with the core intact), 8 pairs of goat kidneys,1 jin of pork spinal cord, 20 yuan worth of egg yolks, 2 jin of donkey-hide gelatin, 2 jin of lotus seeds, 2 jin of euryale seeds, 3 jin of prepared rehmannia root, 1 jin of Shayu tribulus, 1 jin of white honey, and 1 jin of goji berries (roasted until black).

Processing
Divide the above herbs among 4 copper pots (avoid stirring with iron utensils; use a copper spoon), grouping the “living” ingredients with the “living” and the “non-living” with the “non-living,”simmer gently over low heat for 6 days and nights, strain out the residue, then simmer for another 3 days and nights. Gradually combine the contents into a single pot, simmer until reduced to a paste, then add the 3 types of ejiao and mix thoroughly with honey. Grind the Poria cocos, white peony root, lotus seeds, and euryale seeds—which are in powder form without liquid in this formula—into a fine powder, and mix with the paste to form pills.

Instructions for Use
Take 2 qian per dose, gradually increasing to 3 qian, three times daily, totaling approximately 1 liang per day; continue treatment for one year.
