Palm-Bark Powder,A woman’s menstrual period typically lasts 6–7 days at most and 4–5 days at least, after which the Blood Sea naturally clears. If it persists for half a month or even a month, with spotting that still does not cease, the cause is either an internal deficiency of the Chong and Ren meridians, where qi is unable to contain the blood, or an external invasion of wind-cold, causing blood stagnation in the meridians. Consequently, the spotting continues unceasingly; if prolonged, it develops into menstrual leakage, leading to consumptive disease or hematuria. If sexual intercourse occurs during menstruation, it may result in blood leakage.
