White Tiger Decoction,Excessive heat in the Qi division of the Yangming channel. High fever with a flushed face, restlessness and intense thirst with a strong urge to drink, profuse sweating, and a pulse that is洪大有力 or滑数; in cases of cold damage where the pulse is浮滑, this indicates heat on the exterior and cold in the interior; in combined disorders of the Three Yang channels, abdominal distension and heaviness of the body make it difficult to turn over in bed, accompanied by numbness of the mouth, a soiled face, delirium, and enuresis; inducing sweating causes delirium, while purgation results in sweating on the forehead, cold hands and feet, and spontaneous sweating;In cases of cold damage, a slippery pulse accompanied by cold extremities indicates internal heat; after profuse sweating in cold damage, when exterior symptoms have resolved but there is severe restlessness in the chest and a strong desire to drink water, or 7–8 days after vomiting or purgation, if the pathogenic toxin has not been eliminated, heat is concentrated internally, with heat present in both the exterior and interior, causing intermittent aversion to wind, intense thirst, a dry and restless tongue, and a desire to drink several sheng of water;Heatstroke in summer, characterized by sweating, aversion to cold, body heat, and thirst; all seasonal epidemics, plague, and miscellaneous diseases; stomach heat causing coughing and rashes; in children, sores, blisters, urticaria, and latent heat; warm diseases with body heat, spontaneous sweating, and a dry mouth, accompanied by a洪大 pulse; cholera; and summer heat causing rashes.

Instructions for Use

Boil rice in 1 dou of water until cooked; once the broth is ready, strain out the residue, and take 1 sheng while warm, three times a day.

Note

In cases of cold damage with a floating pulse, fever, and no sweating, where the exterior syndrome has not resolved, this formula must not be administered; if the pulse is floating, taut, and fine, it must not be administered; if the pulse is deep, it must not be administered; if the patient is not thirsty, it must not be administered; if no sweat is produced, it must not be administered.
