Drug Formulation

Acorus (9-joint variety, remove the filamentous nodes, soak in rice washing water, then slice) 1 jin; Asparagus root (remove the core) 1 jin; Aconite (roasted until cracked, remove skin and navel) 3 liang; Hemp seeds 1 sheng (use raw); Eupatorium (remove coarse stems) 1 liang; Dried lacquer (roasted until smoke emerges) 3 liang; Raw Rehmannia root (sliced, lightly roasted) 3 liang;Polygala (core removed) 3 liang, Dew-covered Bee Hive (lightly roasted) 1 liang, Sophora flavescens 1 jin, Astragalus (roasted, coarsely chopped) 8 liang, Angelica pubescens (root tip removed) 5 liang, Dendrobium (root removed) 5 liang, Biota seed (raw) 2 sheng, Snake Shed Skin 3 chi (lightly roasted), Polygonum aviculare (coarsely chopped) 2 liang.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a coarse powder. Boil Acorus tatarinowii and the other ingredients in 2 shi 5 dou of water to extract 1 shi of liquid. Use this liquid to ferment 1 shi 2 dou of sorghum according to standard methods. Use fine malt prepared on the sixth day of the sixth lunar month to brew the wine on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. Once the wine is ready, remove the lees, transfer the clear liquid to a clean container, and cover it with honey.

Instructions for Use

Take 4–5 he of the mixture warm, twice daily and once at night. Boil the Acorus calamus and the remaining medicinal residue again, then use the decoction to rinse the affected areas.
