Drug Formulation

Half a liang of Plantain Herb, half a liang of Changshan (finely chopped), half a liang of Cimicifuga, half a he of white glutinous rice, half a liang of fermented soybeans (roasted), and half a liang of licorice (raw).

Instructions for Use

Take 3 qian bi of the mixture each time; steep the herbs in one and a half zhan of water, place the container under starlight or moonlight, lay a small knife across the herbs, and at the fifth watch, decoct until reduced to seven-tenths of the original volume. Strain out the residue, divide into two warm doses, and take one dose on an empty stomach before the onset of symptoms, followed by the second dose shortly thereafter. After some time, vomiting will occur; once the vomiting has subsided, the patient may consume clear broth or thin congee.
