Drug Formulation

Half a liang of Aconite, half a liang of Ligusticum, half a liang of Realgar, half a liang of Lead White, half a liang of Woody Stephania, half a liang of Cimicifuga, half a liang of Coptis, half a liang of Orpiment, half a liang of Lepidium, half a liang of Alum, 40 apricot kernels (with skin and tips removed), 40 croton seeds, 1 fen of Phellodendron, pine resin the size of a chicken’s egg, and tangled hair the size of a chicken’s egg.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a powder. Combine with 2 sheng of lard and simmer until the tangled hair has completely dissolved; the ointment is then ready.

Instructions for Use

Apply this ointment to the sores three times daily; first wash the area with salt water, then apply the ointment. If the patient’s eyebrows and eyelashes have fallen out and will not regrow, after taking the medicine for 100 days, wash the affected areas with iron slurry three times a day. Once new hair begins to grow, stop the treatment immediately; the eyebrows and eyelashes will return to their original state, just as they were before the illness.
