Processing
Grind the six ingredients—mulberry, chestnut, soybean, Achyranthes, Pinellia, and myrrh—into a powder. Mix with the remaining ingredients and grind into a fine powder. Prepare a glutinous rice paste by boiling with rice vinegar, mix it into the powder, and pound in a mortar with a thousand strokes of the pestle. Gather a group of people to quickly form the pills by hand; if the process is even slightly delayed, the mixture will fall apart. Air-dry in the shade for half a month, then bake over a fire or sun-dry for one day. Each large pill weighs 6 wen;while the “Moisture-Relieving Pills” weigh 3 wen each. If the mixture is too moist, apply lacquer to your hands, take 2–3 pills, and roll them in the lacquer to form a coating.
