Drug Formulation

4 liang Sichuan Aconite (peeled and navel removed), 1 liang whole scorpion (detoxified, used raw), 2 liang Jin-style alum (roasted in a sweet pot until dry, retaining its properties), 4 liang Aconite Root (roasted, peeled, and navel removed),2 liang of White Tribulus (roasted, thorns removed, ground separately), 4 liang of Fangfeng (root base removed), 2 liang of Wulingzhi (impurities removed, ground separately), 4 liang of White Aconite (used raw), 2 liang of White Silkworm (silk and mouth removed, lightly roasted), half a liang of Cinnabar (ground separately to a fine powder), 2 liang of Myrrh (impurities removed, ground separately), half a liang of Musk(ground separately into a fine powder).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Use cooled boiled water to grind 1 liang of Beijing ink into a thick paste, then mix the powder and ink thoroughly. For each 1 liang of the warm mixture, divide it into 4 pills. Dry them only in the breeze; do not expose them to direct sunlight. Coat them with gold leaf.

Benefits

For sudden onset of stroke, left-sided paralysis and right-sided weakness, crooked mouth and eyes, excessive salivation and convulsions, slurred speech, and unilateral or bilateral headaches.

Instructions for Use

Take one pill per dose after meals or before bedtime. Dissolve it in fresh ginger juice, mix with hot wine, and drink, followed by a small amount of hot wine. Immediately move to a warm place, cover with clothes and blankets, and wait until a sweat breaks out—at which point the patient will be cured. For milder cases, divide one pill into two doses.

Note

Avoid foods that induce wind. Pregnant women should not take this medicine.
