Drug Formulation

Psoralea corylifolia 6 liang (soaked in salt and wine overnight, then stir-fried until fragrant), walnut kernels (steamed in wine, peeled, and ground separately) 3 liang, Chinese yam 4 liang (stir-fried until golden), Chinese cornelian cherry (pitted, steamed in wine, and baked) 3 liang,Dodder Seed (washed with wine, sun-dried, stir-fried until dry, ground separately into a fine powder without releasing fumes) 4 liang, Fennel Seed 1 liang 5 qian (baked), Cistanche (washed with wine, scales removed, baked) 2 liang,Morinda root (washed with wine, core removed, roasted) 2 liang, deer antler (dehaired and deboned, roasted with clarified butter) 2 liang, Schisandra berries 1 liang 5 qian (steamed with a mixture of honey and wine, sun-dried, then roasted), ginseng 2 liang (chopped into slices, roasted through paper), Rehmannia root 12 liang (simmered in wine, strained, and boiled down to a paste),Goji berries 6 liang (boiled in water, strained, and reduced to a paste of 3 liang), dried Atractylodes macrocephala (soaked in rice washing water overnight, sliced, sun-dried, steamed with human milk, stir-fried until golden, boiled in water, strained, and reduced to a paste) 3 liang, placenta 1 unit (washed in wine, stewed in wine, tendons and membranes removed, and reduced to a paste).

Processing

Grind each of the above ingredients into a fine powder. Mix the four resulting pastes to form a paste; if too dry, add a small amount of refined aged honey. Pound 1,000 times with a pestle to form pills the size of a Paulownia seed.

Take 3 qian each morning and evening before meals, with plain hot water or warm wine as a vehicle.
