Drug Formulation

1g of Sichuan Coptis, 1g of Hu Huanglian, 50ml of ox bile, 5ml of refined honey.

Processing

First, wash the Coptis chinensis, dry it in the sun, and grind it into a coarse powder. Add an appropriate amount of distilled water and decoct twice. Collect the decoctions from both decoctions, allow them to cool, and filter through filter paper;Place the filtrate in an evaporating dish, add the bovine bile and purified honey, mix thoroughly, then evaporate over a double boiler until the total volume is reduced to 50 milliliters. Measure the pH and add borax, boric acid, refined table salt, and borneol as needed to adjust the solution to neutrality, thereby reducing irritation upon instillation into the eye.
