Drug Formulation
8 liang of Di Yu (washed, pounded, and sifted into a fine powder), 1 pi of silk cloth (thin and small).

Processing
Wash the silk with clean water and paste it with starch. Pour 2 dou of clear lye (made from charcoal ash) over the silk and boil it until all the lye is absorbed.Once the silk is thoroughly softened and can be torn into pieces 3 to 5 cun in length, remove it and squeeze out all the lye. Place it in clean water and rinse 3–5 times to completely remove the lye residue. Return it to the pot with 2 dou of water and the ground Sanguisorba root powder, and simmer until thoroughly softened. Test by pinching with your fingers; if it no longer holds its shape as a silk strip, remove it and grind it in a sand mortar until it reaches the consistency of flour paste.

Instructions for Use
Divide this into two doses and mix each with white glutinous rice porridge; take them on an empty stomach. After taking a dose, lie on your back; do not move, turn over, or speak. Take the remaining dose the next day on an empty stomach, also mixed with porridge. During the one-month recovery period, take the utmost care. For postpartum injuries, take one bolt of silk’s worth of this medicine, divided into four doses; mix each dose with one medium bowl of porridge and take it twice daily.
Note
Avoid all toxic foods. Eat only well-cooked, tender yellow female chicken and soft white rice; do not consume any other foods.
