Drug Formulation

3 qian of zinc oxide (calcined, finely ground, and soaked in human breast milk for 49 days), 5 fen of Sichuan Coptis (processed with breast milk), 3 qian of cinnabar, 5 fen of borax, 3 fen of gallic alum, and 3 fen of borneol.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into an extremely fine powder for use. Take 4 liang of aged pre-rain tea and 4 liang of sweet chrysanthemum flowers. Combine the two ingredients with 2 large bowls of water and boil in a clean earthenware pot until it has boiled 45 times. Strain out the tea and chrysanthemum flowers, then simmer over a double boiler until reduced to 1 cup of paste. Add 0.5 fen of bear bile and dissolve it. Mix in the previously prepared powder until uniform, form into a tablet, and store in a porcelain container.

Instructions for Use

For any eye ailment, dissolve a small amount of the ointment in clear water, dip a bone hairpin into the solution, and apply it to both eyes. Close your eyes for a moment; tears will flow, and the condition will be cured.
