Drug Formulation

Ephedra (roots and nodes removed) 1 liang, Ginseng (root tip removed) 1 liang, Scutellaria baicalensis 1 liang, Peony root 1 liang, Ligusticum wallichii 1 liang, Licorice (chopped, roasted) 1 liang, Stephania tetrandra half a liang, Apricot kernels (skinned, stir-fried until golden, finely chopped) 1 liang,Cinnamon 1 liang, Fangfeng (with root tip removed) 1.5 liang, Aconite (roasted, peeled, navel removed, finely sliced) 3 liang, White Flower Snake meat 3 qian, Duhuo 3 qian, Dried Scorpion 3 qian.

Grind the ingredients into a coarse powder.

Instructions for Use

Take 3 qian per dose. Boil with 1.5 zhan of water and 5 slices of fresh ginger until reduced to 1 zhan. Strain out the residue and take while still slightly warm before meals. For those with chronic wind disorders, it is advisable to take this decoction in advance whenever the weather turns overcast or the seasons change, to prevent loss of voice.
