Drug Formulation

Kushen (soaked in wine, stir-fried, and ground into a fine powder) 8 liang; White Tribulus (thorns removed, soaked in wine, stir-fried until yellow, and ground into a fine powder) 4 liang; Black Chou (stir-fried, using only the first-grade powder) 2 liang.

Processing

Mix all the above ingredients thoroughly. For external use, take 1 jin of soapberry, remove the skin and strings, soak and knead in river water to extract a concentrated juice, then simmer in a sandpot until it becomes a paste. Mix this with the herbal mixture to form pills, adding a small amount of honey if desired, each about the size of a tung seed.
