Drug Formulation

3 qian of Tiannanxing, 3 qian of Banxia, 3 qian of Gansui, 3 qian of Daji, 2 qian of Dried Ginger, 2 qian of Black Pepper, 2 qian of Cinnamon, 2 qian of Bi Bo, 1 liang of Daizhashi, 3 qian of Rheum (raw).

Processing

Of the 10 ingredients listed above, take the first 4 and boil them in 1 sheng of whey until the liquid is completely reduced; then dry them in the sun. Pound the remaining 6 ingredients together into a fine powder.For each dose, take 1 qian of the mixture; take 3 seeds of croton, burn them until flames rise, collect the ashes in a bowl, and let them cool. Grind the cooled ashes together with 1 qian of the medicine. Then, use 1 zhan of vinegar to simmer into a paste. Combine this paste with the powdered medicine to form pills the size of mung beans. Divide them into two batches: coat one batch with cinnabar and the other with talcum powder.

Instructions for Use

These two varieties (the white ones may also be shaped into cakes) are used to treat tumors: take 1 pill each time, chew it, and swallow with ginger wine; take 1 pill in the morning and 1 in the evening. For small intestine colic, take 3 pills with 3 qian of sliced ginger (stir-fried until charred), and swallow with wine. For alcohol-induced intoxication, take 2 pills mixed with refined white alum and natural ginger juice. For women’s chest pain, take 2 pills with vinegar broth.
