From *Formulas of the Ruizhutang*, Volume 2.

Processing

Take a sparrow with feathers intact, remove its intestines and stomach, grind the golden-thread alum into a fine powder, fill the sparrow’s stomach to capacity with the powder, sew it closed, and slowly roast it over mulberry wood fire until charred; then grind it into a fine powder.

For pain caused by small intestine hernia.

Instructions for Use

For long-standing conditions, take 2 pieces per dose; for recent ones, take 1 piece. Take on an empty stomach, mixed with ash-free wine. If nausea is a concern, add a small amount of salted water.
