Drug Formulation

Half a liang of croton seed (without oil), 1 liang of Sichuan rhubarb, half a liang of natron.

Processing

Grind the rhubarb into a powder; then add the castor bean powder and sodium carbonate, grind them together finely, and mix with oil to form a paste.

Benefits

For sudden wind-induced disorders in children; facial paralysis in adults; phlegm obstructing the heart; convulsions and epilepsy with the head thrown back; “galloping horse” syndrome with throat obstruction; acute convulsions; and all wind-heat conditions.

Instructions for Use

Take half a qian per dose with hot tea; stubborn phlegm will be expelled through vomiting or diarrhea, bringing immediate relief. For conditions such as convulsions or “horse-running throat” in children, first administer one dose of Borneol and Rehmannia Paste, followed by one zi of this medicine taken with tea; vomiting and diarrhea are considered effective signs of relief.Half a qian for adults; one zi for children. Adjust the dosage according to the patient’s condition (deficiency or excess). Results are typically seen after 1–2 doses; frequent administration is not recommended. If vomiting and diarrhea persist, immediately treat with scallion-white decoction to stop them.
