Drug Formulation

Coptis (stems removed) 1 liang and a half, Magnolia Bark (peeled, processed with ginger) half a liang, Ginseng (root base removed) 5 qian, Scutellaria (scraped to reveal yellow core) 3 qian, Cinnamon Bark (peeled) 1 qian, Dried Ginger (roasted) half a qian, Croton Seed Powder 5 fen, Sichuan Aconite (processed, peeled) half a qian, Red Beans 3 fen,Acorus rhizome half qian, Poria (peeled and woody parts removed) 1 qian, Salvia miltiorrhiza (roasted) 1 qian.

Processing

Grind all the herbs listed above, except for the croton seed powder, into a fine powder. Separately grind the croton seed powder and gradually mix it into the powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of a paulownia seed.

Benefits

A mass in the heart region, arising above the navel, as large as an arm, extending to the epigastrium; if left untreated for a long time, it causes restlessness and distress.

Instructions for Use

Begin with 2 pills; increase by 1 pill daily; on the second day, increase by 2 pills; gradually increase the dose until stools become loose; then resume increasing by 2 pills at a time. Take with a light decoction of Coptis after meals; repeat this cycle. Discontinue once the mass has reduced by more than half.
