Drug Formulation

1 piece of Aconite (roasted, peeled, with the pith removed, and sliced), 1 liang of Papaya (must be Xuan Papaya; dried is also acceptable), 1 liang of Achyranthes (washed), 1 liang of Eucommia (processed with ginger and stir-fried until the fibers break), and 1 liang of Atractylodes (wrapped in paper and steamed to remove dampness, then sliced).

Grind the ingredients into a coarse powder.

Instructions for Use

Place the ingredients in a silk bag and steep them in 3 sheng of ash-free wine: 3 days in summer, 5 days in spring and fall, and 7 days in winter. Each day, take half a zhan of the mixture, mix it with half a zhan of wine, warm it over low heat, and drink it. Reserve half the wine to preserve the medicinal properties; when more than half of the mixture has been consumed, replenish the wine.
