Drug Formulation

Half a liang of licorice (roasted), half a liang of cimicifuga, half a liang of agarwood (chopped), half a liang of musk (ground separately), and 1.5 liang of fermented soybeans.

Processing

Grind all the ingredients except musk into a coarse powder, then mix in the musk and stir until evenly blended.

Instructions for Use

Take 5 qian per dose, add 1.5 zhan of wine, decoct until reduced to 8 fen, strain out the residue, and take one dose each morning and evening before meals. Apply the residue as a hot compress to the swollen area.For severe cases, take half a sheng of fermented soybeans, 14 gardenia seeds, and 2 liang of mallow leaves. Simmer these three ingredients in 2.5 sheng of water until reduced to 1 sheng. Strain out the residue, and divide the warm decoction into three doses to be taken on an empty stomach, at noon, and in the evening; continue until the entire dose is consumed.
