Drug Formulation

Half liang of Angelica sinensis, half liang of Angelica dahurica, half liang of Gallnut, half liang of Coptis, half liang of Realgar, 3 qian of Frankincense (powdered), half liang of Myrrh, half liang of Cuttlefish Bone, half liang of Dragon’s Blood, half liang of Phellodendron, half liang of Cynanchum, half liang of Bletilla, half liang of Magnolia officinalis, 6 qian of Orpiment, and 3 zhan of a mixture of mercury and wood ash.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, then mix with frankincense, mercury oxide, and clear oil to form a paste. First, wash the affected area with salt water, pat dry with a clean cloth, and wait a short while for the moisture to evaporate before applying the medicated paste.

Instructions for Use

Apply the ointment to an oiled cloth, place it over the sore, and secure it with cotton cloth. If pus or exudate oozes out, loosen the bandage, scrape away the impurities, and reapply the ointment. Repeat this process several times until healed.
