Gua Shuang Zi Xue Dan,Formula adapted from Sheng’an’s prescription in *Methods for Treating Damp-Heat Epidemics*.,In cases of epidemic disease characterized by blood heat generating wind, with profound heat and severe cold extremities, cold hands and feet, a dry throat and tongue, shaking of the head and neck, locked jaw and grinding of the teeth, and spasms in the legs and feet,occasional convulsions; in severe cases, testicular retraction, descent of the tendons of the lower back, tenesmus in the lower abdomen, cramping in the genital region, or intestinal dryness—the intestines feel as hard as a board, are extremely painful to the touch, and are difficult to straighten; the Chong and Ren meridians are deprived of nourishment, and the area above, below, to the left, and to the right of the navel feels hard upon palpation, with a pulsating sensation that causes the hand to tremble; the Xuli acupoint and the pericardium will also exhibit abnormal pulsations.
