Drug Formulation

Seaweed (washed to remove salt) 3 liang, Red Poria (black skin removed) 3 liang, Fangfeng (branches removed) 3 liang, Duhuo (root base removed) 3 liang, Aconite (roasted until cracked, skin and navel removed) 3 liang, White Atractylodes 3 liang, Ghost Arrow (stem removed, only feathery parts used) 2 liang, Angelica (sliced, roasted) 2 liang, Rhubarb (chopped, stir-fried with vinegar) 4 liang.

Processing

Coarsely chop the ingredients to the size of sesame seeds or beans, place them in a raw silk bag, and steep them in 2 dou of wine—5 days in spring and summer, 7 days in autumn and winter.

Instructions for Use

Initial dose: 3 he, taken on an empty stomach, at noon, and before bedtime. If frequent loose stools occur, reduce the dose; if no effect is seen, increase to 4–5 he, continuing until recovery.
