3 Huanggualou (peeled, pith removed, and stir-fried), 3 liang Honeysuckle (also known as Left-Winding Vine), 1 liang Frankincense, 2 liang Safflower, 1.5 liang Myrrh, and 0.5 liang Licorice Knots (roasted; those with red streaks).

Grind the ingredients into a coarse powder.

Instructions for Use

Take 1.5 liang of the medicine and 3 bowls of ash-free wine. Place them together in a clay jar and simmer until reduced to 1.5 bowls, then strain out the residue. Divide the liquid into 3 doses to be taken on an empty stomach, at noon, and before bedtime. If intended for regular use, grind the medicine into a fine powder, mix with wine paste to form pills the size of a marble, and coat them with cinnabar. Take 1 pill per dose, chewing it thoroughly, and wash it down with Angelica wine. For injuries from blows or falls, taking up to 5 pills will bring relief.
