Drug Formulation

6 qian of buckwheat flour, 1 liang of Sichuan rhubarb, 1 pair of areca nuts (use only the tips), and 4.5 qian of fine ink.

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder, mix with cold water, and divide into 13–15 pills. Gently roast them over a low flame using Wenwu charcoal.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 pill per dose. Before taking the medicine, fast for one day. Just before bedtime, soak the pill in half a zhan of vinegar until it becomes paste-like, then grind it into a consistency resembling flour paste. First, take a mouthful of vinegar; after taking the medicine, take another mouthful of vinegar to wash it down.

Note

Consume only plain congee for 2–3 days; avoid raw or hard foods.
