Drug Formulation

1 fen of cinnabar, half a fen of frankincense (ground separately), 1 liang of white alum, 1 fen of yellow丹, 3 croton seeds, and half a liang of arsenic (calcined over a fire with white alum spread on the bottom, reduced to 7 fen).

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder. For each use, take 2 qian of the powder, 3 spotted scorpions, and 1 liang of sesame oil. Simmer together until the spotted scorpions and croton seeds turn red. Remove the two ingredients, then use only the oil to mix with the powder to form an ointment.

Instructions for Use

Apply according to the size of the hemorrhoid, once every 1–2 days. Change the dressing for 6–7 days; if the area turns charred black, discontinue application. For unruptured hemorrhoids, apply the ointment to promote healing; for ruptured ones, use a paper wick to allow the medicine to penetrate the ulcer.
