Hyperlipidemia refers to a chronic condition in which plasma lipid concentrations significantly exceed the normal range. assessment is generally based on the measured levels of plasma cholesterol and triglycerides. Elevated blood lipids result from wellness of lipid metabolism. The causes may include genetic factors, environmental influences, and dietary imbalances. Its clinical manifestations primarily include: headache, numbness in the limbs, dizziness, chest tightness and pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, and other signs of imbalance. Hyperlipidemia can be classified into primary and secondary types. The former is relatively rare and is a hereditary wellness of lipid metabolism; the latter is often a complication accompanying conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes, atherosclerosis, nephrotic syndrome, myxedema, hypothyroidism, and biliary cirrhosis.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, elevated blood lipids are considered to result from deficiency of the Liver, Kidney, and Spleen viscera, along with internal accumulation of phlegm and blood stasis. These conditions are classified into six patterns: Spleen Deficiency with Dampness Excess, Damp-Heat Stagnation, Liver Fire Blazing, Yin Deficiency with Yang Hyperactivity, Qi and Blood Stasis, and Liver and Kidney Yin Deficiency. Based on pattern differentiation, methods such as regulating the functions of the three viscera, moving blood stasis, and transforming phlegm are applied to support healthy blood lipid levels.

1.Lotus Leaf (He Ye), Patchouli (Huo Xiang), and Ginger (Jiang) Tea

Ingredients: Nelumbo nucifera (Lotus Leaf) 15 g, Agastache rugosa (Huoxiang) 6 g, Zingiber officinale (Ginger) 3 slices.

Preparation: Put all the above herbs into a cup, brew with boiling water, and drink as tea. Take 2-3 doses daily.

Preparation method: Grind the above ingredients into a coarse powder. Place half of the powder into a cup, pour boiling water over it, and steep, then drink as a tea. Use one dose daily, divided into two portions to infuse and consume.
