Drug Formulation

Hangzhou Chuanxiong (washed with wine) 9 qian, Jinzhuang Huangqin (washed with wine) 9 qian, solid Huangqin (stir-fried with wine) 9 qian, thick Huangbai (stir-fried with wine) 9 qian, black Qianniu (stir-fried; take the fine powder) 6 qian, mint leaves 4 qian 5 fen, talc powder (water-floated) 6 qian,Pointed Areca Nut 7 qian 5 fen (washed in children’s urine, sun-dried), Aged Trifoliate Orange Peel 4 qian 5 fen (fried with wheat bran), Clean Forsythia Fruit (core and septum removed, thoroughly cleaned) 6 qian, Beijing Red Peony Root (fried) 6 qian.

Processing

Prepare the ingredients according to the formula, mix thoroughly, dry in an oven, grind into a very fine powder, and mix with refined honey to form pills the size of a water caltrop.

Benefits

For all types of fetal toxicity in infants, including fetal heat and jaundice, flushed face and closed eyes, thrush, tongue swelling (such as double tongue or wooden tongue), laryngeal obstruction and tonsillitis, high fever throughout the body, yellowish-red urine, constipation, measles, scrofula, wandering wind, tinea, scabies, spreading rashes, phlegm-food-wind-heat syndromes, mumps with facial swelling, and the ten types of fire rashes.

Instructions for Use

For infants under one month old, administer 1 pill per dose; for slightly older children, 2 pills. Dissolve both doses in tea broth before administration. If mild diarrhea occurs, it indicates the medicine is taking effect and the condition is improving; if no diarrhea occurs, administer another dose. For severe cases, take 3 doses daily until recovery. This formula is by no means harsh; please do not hesitate to use it.

Note

This formula is contraindicated for infants with a cold or weak constitution or a pale, ashen complexion; nursing mothers must strictly avoid greasy foods.
