Drug Formulation

Deer antler (roasted to remove hair, fried with butter) 2 liang, Poria (with woody core removed) 2 liang, Cuscuta seed (washed, soaked in wine, ground into cakes) 2 liang, Aconite root (roasted, with skin and pith removed) 2 liang,Cornus officinalis (branches and seeds removed), Aquilaria (not exposed to fire), Morinda officinalis (core removed), Clove (not exposed to fire), Ginseng (root base removed), Angelica sinensis (root base removed, soaked in wine), Yangqishi (ground separately) half liang, Dried tangerine peel 3 liang, Magnolia officinalis (peel removed, processed with ginger and roasted) 1.5 liang, Dried ginger (roasted, washed) 1 liang,Cistanche (soaked in wine, outer skin removed) 1 liang, Cinnamon Bark (coarse outer bark removed, not roasted) 1 liang, Cardamom (wrapped in flour and steamed) 1 liang, Achyranthes Root (root base removed, soaked in wine) 1 liang, Sichuan Eucommia Bark (chopped, soaked in ginger juice, stir-fried to remove fibers) 1 liang,Fennel (rinsed to remove sand, stir-fried) 1 liang, Psoralea 1 liang.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder; mix with a paste made from wine and cooked flour to form pills the size of a tung tree seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 50 pills per dose, washed down with salted wine, salted broth, or rice water before meals.If appetite is reduced, take with a decoction of cloves and aconite; for chest and diaphragm discomfort, take with a decoction of cloves, poria, dried ginger, white atractylodes, and licorice; for loose stools, take with a decoction of cardamom and aconite; for insufficient heart qi causing insomnia, take with a decoction of poria and aconite; for invasion by cold pathogens, take with a decoction of ginger and aconite;For frequent urination, take a decoction of aniseed and salted aconite; for abdominal pain due to deficiency-cold, take a decoction of Chinese bayberry and aconite; for bloody diarrhea, take a decoction of cardamom and aconite; for foaming at the mouth, thick and sticky body fluids, phlegm-retention, and nausea, take a decoction of Sichuan aconite, aconite, and Pinellia.
