Drug Formulation

1 liang of ginseng, 6 liang of Chinese yam, 6 liang of Poria, 6 liang of Euryale seed, 6 liang of lotus seed, 3 sheng of glutinous rice, 7 sheng of non-glutinous rice, 1 jin of rock sugar, and 1 jin of white honey.

Processing

Grind the five ingredients, including ginseng, into a fine powder. Grind the glutinous rice and non-glutinous rice into a fine flour as well. Mix the herbal powder and rice flours evenly. Simmer the rock sugar in honey water until dissolved, then immediately mix in the rice-herbal mixture while still hot. Spread the mixture evenly in a steamer basket, cut into strips, steam until cooked, dry over a fire, and store tightly in a porcelain container.
