Drug Formulation

Soapstone Alum 8 liang (mix with 1 jin of flour to form a cake, place the soapstone alum inside, and bake over a fire until charred), Atractylodes (soaked in rice washing water, stir-fried) 8 fen, Magnolia Bark (stir-fried with ginger juice) 8 fen, Dried Tangerine Peel 8 fen, Licorice 8 fen, Sichuan Pepper 10 liang (seeds removed, stir-fried to remove moisture).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Take 3 jin of red dates (boiled, peeled, and pitted) and 3 jin of walnuts (shelled), pound them together into a paste, mix with the powder, and form into pills the size of a tung seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 70–80 pills per dose, washed down with wine. At first, the medicine tastes sweet and pleasant; but as the illness nears recovery, it begins to smell foul.
