Drug Formulation

4 liang of Tiannanxing, 4 liang of Dabanxia (soak these two ingredients separately in rice washing water for 3–5 days each until fully permeated; rinse clean, slice, place in a bowl, and sun-dry; then soak successively in ginger juice, soap juice, alum juice, and soda ash solution, and sun-dry each time after soaking overnight), 1 liang of Qingpi (pith removed), 1 liang of Chenpi (white pith removed),Zhike (pith removed, fried with wheat bran) 1 liang, Zhishi (fried with wheat bran) 1 liang, Bai Zhu (root tip removed) 1 liang, Bai Fuling (peeled) 1 liang, Suzi (fried) 1 liang, Bai Jiezi (fried) 1 liang,Radish seeds (roasted) 1 liang, Cyperus rhizome (roasted in salt water) 1 liang, Trichosanthes seed 1 liang, Dried Pueraria root 1 liang, Platycodon root (stem removed) 1 liang, Bitter apricot kernels (skinned) 1 liang, Scutellaria root (roasted in wine) 1 liang, Shenqu (roasted) 1 liang, Barley malt (roasted) 1 liang, Hawthorn fruit (steamed, seeds removed) 1 liang,White Cardamom (shelled) 1 liang, Xianhu (root tip removed) 1 liang, Licorice 1 liang.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Use the decoction prepared from the first four ingredients, add one bowl of bamboo sap, and mix with steamed buns to form pills the size of a Paulownia seed.
