Chinese Name : 椒丹

Drug Formulation

1 liang of cinnabar (finely ground to a dust-like consistency), 1.5 liang of Sichuan pepper (select large, red peppercorns; discard those with stems, stalks, or closed pods).

Processing

Place the ingredients in a raw silk bag and soak the bag in strong, ash-free liquor until the liquid covers the contents by 2–3 fen. Leave it overnight, then remove and let it drain briefly. Transfer the contents to a cinnabar bowl and stir until evenly mixed. Add a small amount of the remaining pepper-infused liquor to the cinnabar until it is completely saturated, then dry in the sun.

Instructions for Use

Take 50 pills per dose, increasing to 100 pills.

Note

This medicine must not be roasted over fire, nor should it come into contact with raw water.
