Drug Formulation

1 jin of yellow jingzi (sun-dried, hulled, washed 3–4 times with clean warm water, then soaked in children’s urine for 3 days and nights—changing the urine morning and evening—and after soaking, washed 3–4 times with warm water again; stir-fried, ground into a fine powder for use; known as the “Pill for Removing Cataracts and Clearing Cloudiness”).

Processing

For each use, take 1 liang of the powder base, add 2.5 qian each of Angelica sinensis (washed in wine), Ligusticum chuanxiong, and Rehmannia glutinosa (all ground into powder), 1.5 qian of Paeonia lactiflora (washed in wine and ground into powder), 1 qian each of Eupatorium fortunei, Notopterygium incisum, Angelica dahurica, Cimicifuga heracleifolia, Bupleurum chinense, Cassia tora, and Eupatorium fortunei (all ground into powder), 1.5 qian of Gentiana scabra,Schizonepeta and Peppermint (each ground into powder)—1.5 qian each. Mix all powders thoroughly until uniform.

Take 2–3 qian per dose, washed down with a decoction of light bamboo leaves after meals, twice daily.
